Information and self-service environment of the Tallinn Education Department
To perform actions in the information and self-service environment of the Tallinn Education Department, you must log in to the information system. A query is then automatically made to the Estonian Population Register about you and the persons associated with you.
In the self-service environment, you can:
- submit an application for a kindergarten place for up to two Tallinn municipal kindergartens;
- accept, postpone or delete a kindergarten place offer;
- apply for an exemption from the parental contribution for a kindergarten place.
It's not possible to apply for a kindergarten place or an exemption from the parental contribution if your address in the population register isn't an address located in the City of Tallinn or if the address data has expired.
You can apply for a kindergarten place in the self-service environment for a child who is not on the list of any Tallinn municipal kindergarten. The parent has the right to choose up to two kindergartens according to their wishes throughout the administrative territory of Tallinn where they want a kindergarten place for their child. An application must be submitted separately for each kindergarten in the self-service environment.
In Tallinn, kindergarten groups are formed between May 1 and August 15. Kindergarten place offers are made to the parent based on the queue, taking into account the request for a place and giving priority to children whose brother or sister attends the same kindergarten. The parent must confirm the existence of a sibling in the self-service environment. If the parent doesn't accept the place offer within the specified deadline, the director has the right to delete the child from the queue of the given kindergarten. When accepting the kindergarten place, the child is confirmed in the group from August 15.
To change a kindergarten, residents of Tallinn can choose a kindergarten for their child that has free places. To change a kindergarten, the parent must contact the director of the kindergarten.
To get a place in an integration or special needs group, you must submit an application with the decision of the advisory committee to the director of the kindergarten at the kindergarten or send it signed digitally by email.
