Information and self-service environment of Tallinn Education Department
To perform actions in the information and self-service environment of Tallinn Education Department, you must log in to the information system. An automatic query is made to the Estonian Population Register about you and persons related to you.
In the self-service environment, you are able to:
- submit an application for a placement at up to two Tallinn municipal kindergartens;
- accept or reject a kindergarten placement offer;
- apply for an exemption from the parental fee contribution.
In the self-service environment, it is possible to apply for a kindergarten placement or an exemption from the parental fee contribution if the registered address of the child and at least one parent in the population register is in the City of Tallinn.
In the self-service environment, you can apply for a kindergarten placement for a child who is not listed in any of Tallinn municipal kindergartens. The parent has the right to choose up to two kindergartens based on their preference throughout the administrative territory of Tallinn, where they would like a kindergarten placement for their child.
Kindergarten placement offers are made to the parent based on the time of the requested placement and giving priority to children whose brother or sister attends the same kindergarten. The sibling relationship is automatically established in the information system based on the registered place of residence. If the parent rejects the placement offer, the child is going to be removed from the kindergarten placement queue.
To change a kindergarten, residents of Tallinn can choose a kindergarten for their child that has available places. To change a kindergarten, the parent must contact the director of the kindergarten.
To get a placement in a smaller group (for a child with special educational needs), you must submit an application along with the decision of the advisory committee to the kindergarten director at the kindergarten or through the self-service environment.
